New patrons must complete a patron information card. Library cards will be distributed when we are automated on August 4, 2012.

Summer renters or boaters staying at one of the marinas may take out materials. They need to include both their Essex and permanent home addresses on the registration card. Summer residents provide this information as well.

Permanent residents of the towns in Clinton, Franklin, or Essex New York counties may also borrow books by filling out the membership registration card. They may be instructed to return books to their local libraries if they cannot return them here.

Books may be signed out for two weeks. Overdue fines are fifty cents per item per week for books returned more than one week late. Items may be renewed in person, by phone, or by email. There is a drop-off bin for book returns when the library is closed. If a patron cannot find a particular book or other material, it can be ordered through interlibrary loan.
